STRAWBERRY-PRETZEL DESSERT
THE BOTTOM LAYER OF CRUSHED PRETZELS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN THIS WONDERFUL DESSERT.
CRUST:
2 CUPS CRUSHED PRETZELS
¾ CUP MELTED OLEO
3 T SUGAR
BAKE CRUST AT 400 FOR 7 MINS THEN 350 FOR 10 MINS. LET COOL.
MIDDLE LAYER:
1 CUP SUGAR
8 OZ CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED
8 OZ COOL WHIP
CREAM WELL THEN SPREAD OVER CRUST WHEN COOL
TOP LAYER:
6 OZ STRAWBERRY JELLO – LGE BOX
2 CUPS BOILING WATER
1 LGE CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE, DRAINED
20 OZ STRAWBERRIES – FRESH OR FROZEN, DEFROST & DRAIN IF USING FROZEN
DISSOLVE JELLO IN BOILING WATER. ADD PINEAPPLE AND STRAWBERRIES.
LET COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE.
SPOON OVER CREAM CHEESE/COOL WHIP LAYER.
MAKE SURE THAT BOTH LAYERS ARE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE OR THE JELLO WILL SEEP TO THE BOTTOM.
REFREIGERATE UNTIL TOP LAYER IS SET.
